The internal troops of Kyrgyzstan told about the chronological order of the events that took place in the conflict zone on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.

According to the press service of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, during the events that took place in the Batken region on April 28-29, 2021, the personnel of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic under the leadership of the Commander of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Colonel Islambek Kenzhekulov, together with employees of other services of internal affairs bodies and law enforcement units, performed the task with honor and dignity.

So, on April 28, 2021, in the area of the Head Water Intake facility in the village of Kok-Tash, Batken district, there was a conflict between local residents of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, which gradually turned into an armed clash between the military personnel of both countries.
The reason for the conflict was the installation of a video surveillance camera on an electric pole from the Tajik side. During the negotiations, representatives of law enforcement agencies, law enforcement agencies and the local administration of the two republics settled the conflict.
On April 29, 2021, at approximately 13: 30, local residents arrived at the location of the Main Water Intake Structure and demanded that the previously installed cameras be dismantled. The gathered people from Tajikistan, refusing to dismantle, started firing from several hunting weapons. From the shots of the residents of Tajikistan, the people in front of them fell to the ground, the rest in a panic began to run away to the sides.

At approximately 14: 00, a mortar attack began from Tajikistan. The first shell from a mortar shot hit the territory of the Main Water Intake structure. This was followed by an intense mortar attack from Tajikistan on the adjacent territory and the interior of the Main Water Intake Structure. From the explosion of a mortar shell, local residents received shrapnel wounds.
The protection and defense of the Main Water intake structure, at that time, was carried out by the personnel of the special purpose detachment " SHER "(hereinafter special purpose detachment " SHER") of the military unit 707 of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic under the command of Major Ibragim Akmatov. The soldiers of the OSN "SHER", began to take the wounded citizens to previously prepared firing positions and provided first aid, in parallel, responded with fire from standard weapons. After that, the mortar fire of the Tajik soldiers spread to the firing positions of the SHER OSN.

But thanks to the skillfully and correctly chosen location of firing positions, equipment, the servicemen of the Special Forces Squad "SHER" avoided getting hit by fragments of exploding shells. Only a few soldiers who assisted local residents in hiding in firing positions received shrapnel wounds.

During the exchange of fire, the soldiers of the Special Forces Squad "SHER" noticed that from one of the buildings from the side of Tajikistan, firing, several people with distinctive black uniforms began to move in their direction. It was obvious from the actions that this was not an army unit, but another unit.

The soldiers of the Special Forces Squad "SHER" firing at this building from Hand-held anti-tank grenade launcher and sniper rifles, did not allow those to approach, whose actions were more like an assault. As a result, they retreated, and the building caught fire. In addition, the Tajik military fired small arms from hiding places. The servicemen of the internal troops fired from under-barrel grenade launchers and hand grenades at the well-fortified firing positions of the Tajik army units. Thus, they forced the Tajik military to retreat to the interior of the settlement, from where they continued to fire from mortars, specially equipped armored vehicles and other small arms.

At approximately 16.30, on the order of the Commander of the Internal Troops, Colonel Islambek Kenzhekulov, the crew of the Amphibious assault vehicle of the military unit 707 of the Internal Troops arrived, which supported the personnel of the Special Forces Squad "SHER"with machine-gun fire. After that, at about 6.30 pm, the Tajik soldiers retreated and the shooting stopped.

In addition, the personnel of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic performed the task in the settlements of Min-Bulak, Kok-Tash, Kyzyl-Bel, Min-Oruk of the Batken region. Currently, the commander of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Colonel Islambek Kenzhekulov, is in the Batken region and personally coordinates the actions of the units.

To date, 14 servicemen have received various degrees of injury. All of them are being treated in medical institutions in Bishkek and Batken region. According to the instructions of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, all servicemen of the internal troops who received injuries of varying severity will be provided with comprehensive assistance.
